Record Aloud Bible Terms of Service
These Terms govern the use of the Record Aloud Bible service (the “Service”), provided free of charge by FCI Inc. (Factory of Creative Imagination, the “Company”), and the rights and obligations of the Company and users.
Article 1 (Service)
The Service is available without registration and provides Bible reading, recording and playback, Google Drive backup and restore, sharing of recordings, and participation in Bible reading contests.
Article 2 (Storage and Management of Recordings)
- Recordings and ordinary reading records created by a user are stored only on the user’s device and are not transmitted to or stored on the Company’s servers.
- Users are responsible for backing up recordings needed in case the app is deleted or a device is changed, lost, or damaged.
Article 3 (Google Drive Backup and Restore)
- When a user signs in to Google and initiates backup or restore, recordings are transferred directly between the user’s device and the app-specific storage area in the user’s Google Drive.
- Recordings do not pass through the Company’s servers, and the Company cannot store or access files in Google Drive.
- Users may revoke the Service’s access at any time in their Google Account settings. Google’s terms and policies apply to Google Drive.
Article 4 (Bible Reading Contests)
- A user may enter a six-digit contest code to join a contest and use the “Submit” function to submit the number of verses read.
- For participation and scoring, a randomly generated app UUID, contest code, contest nickname, Bible type, submitted reading history, number of verses read, first and latest submission date and time, and access IP address may be stored on the Company’s server.
- The contest nickname, ranking, number of verses submitted, and latest reading date may be displayed on the contest ranking or participant screens. The latest submission time may be displayed on the user’s own screen, and ranking CSV files contain rank, participant name, and verse count.
- Before the contest ends, a user may use “Cancel Reading Record” to cancel their submitted contest reading record. The canceled submission is excluded from contest results and rankings, but contest participation itself is not canceled.
- Reading records cannot be canceled after the contest ends.
- Contest information is automatically deleted by contest after 31 days have elapsed from the end of the contest.
- Users may continue to use ordinary recording and playback features without joining a contest.
Article 5 (Advertising)
The Service is free and may display non-personalized advertising provided through Google AdMob. Google’s policies apply to processing related to advertising.
Article 6 (Sharing Recordings)
- Users may share recordings through social media or other external services.
- After sharing, the external service’s terms and policies govern use and retention of the file.
- Users must not record or share content in a manner that infringes another person’s privacy, copyright, or other rights.
Article 7 (Content and Rights)
- Rights lawfully held by a user in a recording created by that user remain with the user.
- Rights in Bible text, software, designs, and other content provided by the Service belong to the Company or their lawful owners.
- Users may use content only as permitted by the Service and may not sell or commercially exploit it without separate permission.
Article 8 (Changes and Interruptions)
The Company may change or discontinue all or part of the Service for operational or technical reasons or because of changes to third-party services such as Google. Where a change materially affects users, the Company will provide advance notice when reasonably possible, or subsequent notice when the reason is urgent or unforeseeable.
Article 9 (Limitation of Liability)
- The Company endeavors to provide the Service reliably.
- The Company is not liable for loss caused without its intent or negligence by device failure, deletion of the app, operating-system changes, the user’s failure to manage data, or failures of external services such as Google Drive or social media.
- Nothing in this Article excludes liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Article 10 (Privacy)
The Company processes personal information in accordance with the Record Aloud Bible Privacy Policy.
Article 11 (Changes to These Terms)
The Company may amend these Terms to reflect changes in law or the Service. The effective date and material changes will be announced in advance through the Service or website.
Article 12 (Governing Law and Disputes)
These Terms and use of the Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. The parties will first seek to resolve disputes through consultation; otherwise, jurisdiction will be determined by applicable law.
